Best Christmas card award goes to Tern and the best (and unexpected) Christmas gift award goes to Mystery Shoppers.
I don't remember getting anything last year, so I really feel appreciated.0 -
:xmastree: I know this is a bit early, but........ Happy Xmas everyone. Hope you all have a lovely time with your family and friends. Happy holidays to people who do not celebrate Xmas. A huge thanks to everyone for all their help and advice this year. I won't mention names as I will probably forget someone's name, but thanks for all the pm's when I have asked for help.:xmastree:
I know this is not MS related, but Quality Save / Home Bargains have a top deal on at the moment. Mr Kipling Mince Pies (6 in each box) x 5 boxes for £1. They also have McVities Temptations for 29p a box. Both of these are quite expensive at Tesco. Happy Hunting.0 -

Hello, I just wondered if anyone could help out. Has anyone here done jury service and claimed back some of their MS earnings? I think I remember someone mentioning it a couple of threads ago, but can't remember who. The problem is I can't show how much work I got just before as I start on the 3rd January and have done less in December than I normally would. The other thing is, if anyone knows what sort of time they usually finish. All the info you get is a bit vague and the courts are quite close to a town so if I ever finish earlier I might still be able to shoehorn some MS in - I'm getting excited at not being in the sticks for a week or two. Any help would be great, if anyone's had any experience. I know I should just wait and see once I get there, but would be interested to hear anyone elses take on things. Thank you0

Yes, that was me! I did my jury service in June and asked this question on here. I didn't claim for my loss of earnings in the end as I needed a letter from the companies saying that I would lose out on work that they would be giving me. But they can just as easily give that work to another shopper. As I had weekends free I did some jobs then.
Generally, we had to be there for 10am, if you were on a jury then sometimes it would be later. We had an hour for lunch in which you could leave the premises if you wished. We were finished by 4.30pm and sometimes even earlier. It all depended on when they allowed you to leave. I was quite lucky and had two cases while I was there so spent minimal time waiting around. I also had a two days off because of some legal stuff in the case I was on. Most days I was finished by 4pm and was able to do a few jobs on my way home. You should definitely take lots of books and things to do with you. You can take your laptop as well.
It was a good experience and I really enjoyed it. It has definitely given me a better insight into how the courts work and what goes on in a courtroom. Not to mention the amount of time that is wasted just waiting around even when you are on a jury. If you don't get a case then it is very very boring!0 -
My best email was from the fast food mcs telling me I'd won half a ton in the Christmas draw. :j:beer:0
