It seems that Gap makes a fair few mistakes with scheduling (allowing us to self-allocate jobs that don't actually need doing, and not realising this until after the event).
Thanks for all the advice, I think I will complete the other job and see what the submitting process is like before deciding whether to do any more for them. The restriction of 2 jobs per month for the first 2 months is a bit annoying and I don't like the way you search for jobs on their site, so can't see them being my main source of work.0 -

I've also had the date mysteriously change on an assignment. I thought I was going slightly mad, but checked the confirmation e-mail and they had changed it.0 -
Just a wee heads up to anyone who clams tax credits as self employed - you will be getting a letter from them asking for evidence of hours, invoices and expenses over a 3 month period. I gt one last month and they phoned to see if I had received it and told me that they are gradually trying to check all self employed claimants.
I explained to her what I did and that there are enormous numbers of receipts etc, and they will probably accept a sampling - a couple of weeks worth - with a cover letter explaining what you do and have sent them.0 -
Quick RE question. I've been steadily doing these and all received ok, now having an attack of the doubts. You know the lovely 'Please describe your entire experience in detail' box... what do you write there? I have been writing a factual account from start to finish, broadly going through the questions they ask, but mostly just what happened. It's all been ok so far, but are we supposed to be putting anything subjective in there or is it all just the hard facts about what happened?
Just wondered what anyone else did...
Edit: Why did I have to be ill this week? Such a busy MS week, if I was well I would easily be able to do them, but it has been such a struggle with being off my main work all week. Managed to get through them so far, then realised another foody was hiding at the bottom of my active RE ones for today lunch time. Had to release it, it's in the town where I work and for so many reasons I can't do it. Hope I don't get a slapped wrist but I can't help it... asdkjhads.0 -

It could be to weed out bogus claims for working tax credits I think.
There are people who do stuff like an hour a week selling Avon to family, then claim they are self employed for 16 or 30 hours a week to get working tax credits.
There was talk to assume you earn minimum wage from self employed work and pay working tax credits on your assumed income too.
Hopefully nobody on here has anything to worry about though. Here I go again on my own....0 -

I agree. It's an annoyance, but really it's not much more that the kind of book keeping we need to do for MSing anyway. I also write and host a pub quiz (8 hours per week - way less than min wage per hour) and run a personal concierge business. Anything that is done in pursuing getting paid counts as work, so time spent FFFing, business networking, updating my website is all working hours. I estimate it's a 50 hour week.
They reckon in business you need to spend 1/3 of your time on client work, 1/3 marketing to get new work, and 1/3 running the business.0 -
