Are Ikea kitchen doors same size as Wickes?

Hi, just had a thought to maybe get Ikea carcasses (I like their deep cupboards and easy to get interior fittings) but also saw a door style at Wickes that I quite like. Are these two compatible or am I dreaming...

I feel a song coming on..............................................
Close your eyes, give me your hand, darling
Do you feel my heart beating, do you understand?
Do you feel the same, am I only dreaming?
Is this burning an eternal flame?
I'd take a lot of measurements before committing, the hinge centres may be different and may well be a different design. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
Yeah, looks like an eternal flame LOL!
Think the cupboard lengths are different too0 -
i've just fitted an ikea kitchen (chuffed to bits with it as well) and if you want to measure the other doors, let me know and ill dig out a tape measure.
by the way, i'd recommend the ikea kitchen, the install went like a dream. and 24 doors took me just over 40 minutes to fit! its unbelievably fast0 -
Thanks, I've had it before ages ago and that's why I'd want it again! Last time I've had a Homebase kitchen and wouldn't have it again....
This is the Ikea door design I'd like but not sure what is "foil" finish like?

Had a MFI one a few years back - took me 18 months to fit !Any posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as (financial) advice.0 -
unlikely. Ikea do different sizes. We have mix and match with b and q, Ikea and amsone original cupboards. It looks amazing, but I live with a joiner! Ikea kitchens are great for the price. MeganMay GC - £100 per week
Week 1 - £120/£100 , Week 2 £110/100:o, Week 3 £110/£100:mad:, Week 4 £50/100Week 5

I can definitely tell you that Wickes doors will not fit Ikea units. Different door heights and different carcasse thickness, so sadly, no chance!0
-
Well so much for my idea... How thick are Wickes carcasses?0
-
Sorry, I was wrong about carcasse thickness, they are the same (both 18mm). But a standard Ikea door is 695mm tall and a Wickes one is 735mm and the hinge holes are in different places too, so still does not help your cause I am afraid.
Wickes units are solid backed with a 66mm service gap, whilst Ikea are full depth but not solid backed.
Wickes would come in quite a bit more money than Ikea though.
Is the door you like Imola? If it is, I have not seen one like it anywhere else at that level of the market and would only be available through Wickes/Benchmarx/TP.
Wickes do offer a price match but if it is Imola, they tend to refuse it as there is currently nothing else like it!0
