So sorry to hear about the accident and the very disappointing response from the staff. Glad to hear your son is ok now.
From what you have posted it doesn't seem like you are after cash compensation (must admit I hate the compensation culture). It sounds as though the lifeguards were not paying attention, the first aider seemed totally pointless and unhelpful and the blood not being cleaned up if awful. I can understand why you are feeling upset and suspect that if they had just given you a decent apology you would have been satisfied? Shame on them for lying and trying to cover up especially as they are meant to be a family friendly company.
Perhaps mention to them that their lies are making you so upset that you are considering going to Watchdog or the press?Yesterday is today's memories, tomorrow is today's dreams0 -
BTW which center parcs was it at ?Sealed pot challenge - member no:506
£2 savers club - member number: 360 -
What a disgraceful response! I can't believe they'd lie then just ignore your protest! I think I'd find the name of someone higher up, and hand write a letter letting them know how poor their customer services are, and that you don't appreciate being lied to.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Slightly different but we had to complain about about our lodge and wrote to the CEO. We got a fantastic response from.his department.0

It seems like the CEO is Martin Dalby address is

Your poor little man, hope he is better soon. I really would not be happy with this kind of care, I'm no expert but I would have thought First Aid training was a vital part of being a lifeguard.
I would put your complaint in writing, if you can print out the emails both to & from Centre Parcs & send them to him. Dreadful customer service following a terrible experience.Booo!!!0 -
Hi,
Recently we went to Centre Parcs for a short break with our 3 children age 8,7 and 4 and were having a great time when my son fell on some steps at the swimming pool.
My son was in shock and shivering and my husband returned (he had tried to clean up the hotdog my son dropped so no one slipped on it but one else came to clean it up).
Does anyone have any ideas where I could highlight this. Should I contact CEO or something?
Any help or advise would be great.
Emma
Glad to hear your son is ok now, must have been really scary for him.
As others have said, take the complaint higher if you aren't happy with the response, although speaking as someone who has fell ill at Center Parcs I can vouch that any med care there is v basic and not easily accessed.
Not sure if this is correct,Or if I have read it correctly, but why was your son eating a hot dog whilst on/in the pool steps? just for how busy it gets, it would be so easy to get knocked over etc, especially if he was concentrating on the hotdog. Or did the food just end up there when he fell?
ParcsPlease be nice to all moneysavers!

Ps, meant to add, keep copies of any letters or records of any contact with them. Just for future ref if needed.
I know cp tends to get busy, but regardless they should have the properly trained staff at all times, specially as their biggest Market is families. Please be nice to all moneysavers!

Sorry to hear about your son, hope he's recovered and has no lasting scar.
If l were you'd l'd send a letter to Martin Dalby but BE WARNED l find Center Parcs customer service is abysmal.
When we first started going 15 years ago they bent over backwards to help with anything and make sure your holiday was lovely, now it's full of activities and more a money-making exercise the staff are too busy and can't be bothered. We've always gone to Elvedon btw.
One time we were there l had labrynthitis (middle ear problem, everything was spinning) they refused to get the medical officer to come to me, so hubby had to get the car drive me to the medical centre to be seen, l couldn't open my eyes and was constantly vomiting but that was their attitude. They said a paramedic couldn't come on site l had to go to the village doctors and left us to find the numbers and sort it all out. As we were leaving hubby saw a paramedic on site going to someone else.
Oh, and their medical officer told me 'there's alot of it about', l was fine until l went swimming on the first day, l think it was caught from the pool.
I love going there but as l say customer service is severly lacking.
Happy moneysaving all.0 -

I don't mean that to sound nasty by the way
Of course they have to offer first aid, there's enough regulations on first aid in public place, first aid in sports clubs, what level of first aiders need to be on duty, what eqiuipement they should have provided, and health and safety on blood spilt in swimming areas to cover this several times over.
For a completely different response, my daughter fell at disney, they wheelchaired her to the treatment complex, a nurse applied an ice pack, offered a taxi to the paris hospital with the use of a translator, who would wait and taxi us back if we wanted. We also got vip passes for later to compensate for the loss of time.0 -
Name and shame the Centre Park - so we can avoid it! Also have a look at this link

A long document but does state clearly the things Centre Park should have done in your case. You could use this as part of your complaint.0
