Hi!
Don't know if this is the right place for my question......
I'm moving to Holland very soon and somebody told me that some electrical things won't work over there due to the different electricity (Ok, I know! Not electrickery but voltage or something!:o )
I would like to take:
Household stuff: lamps, steamer, whisk, blender
Also: stereo, computer and printer.
I have some musical items too - maybe I have to check the labelling and manuals (if I can find them!); a synthesizer, an amp (for acoustic inst. with pick-up)
Could I rewire an appropriate plug onto any of these things? Or should I use those converter things (like you get at the airport???)
Thanks!

just taken this from a guide to holland
Electricity: The voltage in Holland is 220 volts. Hotels may have a 110-volt or 120-volt outlet for shavers, but you are advised to bring a power converter and an adapter for two-prong, round-prong plugs.
personally i would take a couple of travel adaptors to get you by for the first few days. but then would buy plugs locally to change over to as they will be cheaper than adaptors and also there will not be as much clutter in your plug sockets,
When i was living in belgium what i did was use a few normal 3 pin extension sockets with a 2 pin plug on the end0
