Advice needed on car insurance!

Hi!
I'm looking for car insurance quotes and want to know how to go about my situation...
I own my car and have had my own insurance for a few years but for the past months I have been sharing it with my boyfriend, who drives pretty much every journey we take, and then uses it for his own journeys, and occassionally I use it for my own journeys. I do a lot less driving than I used to.
My car insurance was me as the main driver and him as the named driver. He used to have his own car which was why we never insured him as the main driver, but this is now not the case, and he clearly does much more driving than I ever do.
Can I insure my car with him as the main driver?
The reason I'm concerned about this is because I have 6 points from driving without insurance a few years ago and I'm worried they might think I'm trying to front the insurance. The reason I got done for driving without insurance was because I wouldn't let a drunk person drive their car, but I got pulled over and caught. The police let me off a lot of the conviction (heavily reduced fine/points/dropped charge against the drunk person/didn't seize the car) because of the nature of the situation BUT I can't exactly write all of that in my car insurance quotes :P
I always go fully comp but am considering TPFAT this year. It's a very old car and not worth the excess if we do get in an accident.
What would you do in this situation? Do you think I should put myself down as the main driver when I am clearly not? Would that be classed as fronting too even though I'd be paying more as a result?!

If he is the main driver you just declare him as the main driver.0
