Hello everyone,

I took home insurance with my morgage around 13 years ago. I paid all my morgage three years ago. I have not paid any money for home insurance after that.

couple of days ago I called them and they said I stil have home insurance with them. how is it possible.

for some reasons I do not want to clarify with them. does anyone know how does it work? my morgage term was for 16 years and I have paid all morgage in 10 years.

do i get 6 years free insurance or they have made a mistake? shall I take new home insurance incase if they realise their mistake later on.

They have probably made a mistake.
Have you had documents from them each year?

Check your banks statements for a Home Insurance Direct Debit. They don't include the payments within the mortgage repayments amounts anymore. This stopped many years ago. With most mortgage companies, they have outsoured their Insurance to an outside company.

Which mortgage company were you with ?
The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.
