That's not actually a new desktop - it's secondhand with a 30-day warranty. Pentium D chips aren't particularly fast either.
I don't keep my eye on PC prices that closely so don't know if there's anything better available for the money, but for £177 I would either want a better chip, a branded PC with some kind of indication of decent build-quality or a longer warranty...
Having bought custom PCs from eBay before, I haven't been too impressed with the build quality. I don't know if this PC (link below) might be better...? It's one of the HP Compaq SFF PCs that are common in offices. In my experience they are well-made and reliable, and this one has a 3-month warranty.

It only has 512MB RAM and an 80GB HDD, but you can upgrade to 4GB RAM for about £40 and get a bigger hard drive if you wanted...0 -
What you need post is what you want the PC for. Basic browsing, MS office or gaming or high end photo editing, things like thatMansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j0
