My mother has arthritis in her hands - can anyone please recommend a universal remote with large, programmable buttons so she need only press ONE button for each channel (ie no need to press 101, 102, etc).

It must work with her FreeSat box, which is a Bush BFSAT02SD

Thanks!

Cannot recommend one but would have thought charities for either arthritis or the elderly would either sell them or at least recommend products. I know they certainly used to.

This may be excessive but it a very big button remote control, bigger than A4 piece of paper. As to if it wil work with the freesat that i couldn't say.

May be better to look at the One For All big button remote, as more chance of it working, does have 19 codes to try for Bush sat box

I bought this one for a friend some years ago. It works with freeview, certainly worth a look.

Thanks for that - can certain buttons be programmed individually so that, for example, one button selects BBC1 ('101'), another button selects BBC2 ('102'), etc?

That would be more down to the freesat box, programme bbc1 to channel 1, bbc2 to channel 2 and so on. The button 1 on remote will choose channel 1, so on.

  • Hmmm, nice idea, but I can't see a way to do that in the manual (and I'm over 100 miles from my mother's FreeSat box so can't try anything right now).
  • Thanks, do you have a link please? I can't see any big button remotes on Tesco Direct.
