Hey Guys,

First time posting on this part of the forums however I have a dog which I feed arden grange to now I get that from the vet... (no doub't the most expensive place.) However this is my first dog so I guess I never knew where to get it eleswhere and it was recommended by them. They also explained that Bakers ect is just commercial food for dogs and said it would be harmful to the dogs health in the future.

Anyway He enjoys this range so I dont mind paying for it but I have found it cheaper to bulk buy online however I have never used any of these companies before so could someone recommend one please ?

Currently Im being charged £12 per 2.5kg of Arden Grange Ocean White fish & Potato.

  • For the most part vets will only sell dog food as they make a profit from it.

Is there a particular reason your dog needs Arden Grange, or is it because your vet recommended it?

    Google is your friend:

    Arden Grange

I found it to be excellent food but paid £30-£35 per 15 kg bag from a local supplier.

  • I buy from my Arden Grange these guys:

    http://www.berriewoodwholesale.co.uk/

We use the large breed chicken and rice dry mix, and then add some of the partners wet food (chicken or lamb) as one of our two is a bit fussy about her food being too dry.

I really like Berriewood - they deliver in our area once a week, so as long as I remember to get my order in the day before, I'm all set. I buy in bulk every 3 months or so, saving on delivery, and storing all of the excess in the spare room.
  • Have you asked your vet how much the 15kg bags would be? It's always cheaper to buy bigger bags.

A couple of suggestions to try for it:

    Zooplus
    Viovet
    Petmeds
    Seapets
    Medicanimal

I'm wondering if he needs the white fish & potato - it's a lot more expensive than the other varieties.... eg 15kg = £47.99 compared to £36.99 for chicken & rice or lamb & rice (at Zooplus).

It may be worth trying a bag of a different flavour but if you want to stick to the fish & potato, it looks like it's going to be fairly expensive (although still cheaper than buying 2.5kg bags from the vet).

Have a hunt around, prices change at all these online places regularly so things can be cheaper at one, but then another the next time.

Where do you live? A friend buys it from the local petshop and she gets every 6th bag free.

I've fed my hounds Arden Grange for years and they do very well on it and it's a resonable price.

You can get a lsit of local stockists from the AG website, then jsut call around to find the best price.

Pretty sure we used to buy ours direct from Arden Grange, two large bags at a time.

Have used PetPlanet before (not for dog food but for other stuff) and they've been okay.
