hi, hope this is the right place to post, if not feel free to tell me to move it

when entering facebook competitions, do you do them from your personal facebook profile (friends, family on etc) or do you set up one specifically for comping? only asking as I have started to enter a few fb comps and I don't want to keep spamming my friends walls plus I don't really want them all knowing about all the comps I enter as if I was lucky enough to win anything I may want to use as a gift to one of them at some point.

Any advice to a comping newbie would be much appreciated

Many of us have a separate comping FB for exactly the reasons you mention above. There's a thread on here where people post their FB names so we can all be friends .
There's been some debate about whether or not to have MSE in your name. Some do, so we can recognise each other. Others advise against. I suppose if a promoter wanted to get difficult, they could refuse to award a prize if it wasn't your real name. Some get around this by using a short form (or similar) of their name to keep the two separate.
I think you may need to link it to a different email address tho', but email addresses are easy enough to come by. Again, many have a completely separate comping email address for all those newsletters we have to sign up for

hi grannybiker, that's great, thanks so much for your help! I've already set up a seperate email address purely for comping so I shall set up a FB from that and go from there. I love this site, everyone is so helpful!

i thought you had found a cover/replacement for these dennis comps ?

i feel like i want to take them on if not, but really hardly have the time for msyelf these days and when the advents take off i dont know how i'm even going to find the time to breathe :rotfl:

Hi, I had a missed call from an 020 number today(020******29). I called back to find it was a company called be sure. The person that answered said they called because I had entered a comp to win an iPad.......But then went on to try to sell me cancer insurance for women. When I asked ." So i haven't won then?" he said no. I told him I didn't want his insurance! I wanted to put this here just in case anyone else has a missed call and wonders what it was.

Hi there I was wondering if someone could tell me. If you win a competition (money) is it normal practice for the runners of the comp to ask for verification of ID (copy of driving license)

Hi,I've heard of it before on here.If the win seems genuine & above board I would not worry too much.Just scan it & email the scan.That way you can delete any info you do not wish to reveal.Congrats
