Extensive computer stuff price comparison?

hey hey,

im looking for a price comparison which really does list the cheapest sellers and gives me lower prices than ebay.

At the moment im looking for a laptop battery, and at megashopbot the cheapest seller is an ebay store.
Considering the horrendous fees ebay takes there has to be a seller out there who is still cheaper or has the same price at least.

In Germany for example price comparison sites normally spit out lower prices for common goods than greedy ebay does. So I am basically looking for a marketplace(exept of amazon) or price comparison which lists the most competitive stores in the UK which I would never find otherwise. Maybee even the same one who offer at ebay, just without the rip-off fees^^

greetings

EBay "Rip off fees". You pay the price of the seller plus postage. It's sellers that pay fees to EBay, not buyers. Failing that, depending what you really want there's Maplins in the UK or the actual computer sellers website. Hope you get it sorted.

I think he means that considering ebay/paypal take near 20% of the sale, there must be someone out there offering a price somewhere 10-15% lower than the ebay price.

The problem you have here is your assumption that price comparison websites have any interest in showing you the cheapest price for something.

They don't - they just want to make money. If they find a really cheap price but the seller won't pay to appear, they won't appear.

I never rely on price comparison websites, and haven't done so for years. In general if I want to find the best price for something I use a simple internet search engine and ignore all of the comparison site hits.
  • yep jaydeuuk1 that is exactly what i wanted to say.

fwor, I already tried to just google a lower price but with little succes.

But it is not only for this particular product. I already had the same problem several times last year.

    Skinflint.co.uk maybe?

I don't think it's better or worse than tons of other similar sites though ..
