Phone in a shared house

I have recently moved into a shared house which other people I do not know will be moving into soon. I have set up a BT line in my name. Does anyone know of a way to identify who makes which calls on the bill. I don't want anyone phoning premium numbers then not admiting it so they don't have to pay.

Best advive I could offer is get a Payphone, that way you will not get ripped off. Payphones that are suitable for the house will have keys/locks to ensure that everyone pops there money in the box for there call. Also they will be unable to disconnect the phone and plug ina normal one too.

    Hope that helps

If you cps your calls to the https://www.phone.coop they offer a billing facility for shared houses. See http://www.phone.coop/residential/telephone/shared.html

I can confirm Phone Co-Op shared billing is great - but only works if you are in a house of people your trust. The bill is still entirely in your name and one payment is taken each month from your bank account - but the bill is nicely split up and totalled by call code, so it's easy to work out.

If you don't think that's a risk you can take, shell out for call barring, and barr all except 0800/0808 (free) calls. You can then get each housemate to join a different indirect supplier - 1899/18866/18185 are three options (they'd need to use the cable 0808 access code due to the barring).
Alternatively, the PIN number option with Telesave is easy to set up - each person is up and running with a prepay phone account after one automated 0800 call. Not the cheapest call rates - but secure separate accounts with no risk of being landed with someone else's bill.http://www.telesave.co.uk/athome/pin.htm
