Acer D250 - left mouse button showing as stuck on

We have an Acer D250 - my DD spilt water on the top left water on the keyboard. We have dried it out and we get the system to load but the left button is showing as down, but the actual button still clicks. If we move the mouse around it highlights everything, the right button works OK.

I've called a computer repair place and he reckons the motherboard needs replacing. I started looking around on eBay and I found this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Acer-One-D250-Laptop-Mothebroard-LA-5141P-/220826713451?pt=UK_Computing_LaptopMotherboards_CPUs_CA&hash=item336a4c3d6b However, it looks like has the same problem as ours so this has left us confused. Is there another reason why the button is not working, does something else need replacing and not the motherboard? Is this seller, selling something that is broken and cannot be fixed?

Does anyone know that could help us some more please. We got from Tesco when they had their deal on but wondering whether it is worth replacing.

Ta.

Can you disable the touchpad via the Control Panel and use a USB mouse instead?

The computer shop is wrong. It needs the board with the mouse buttons on replacing and there is nothing wrong with the mainboard. Can't remember that particular model but you will either get away with just replacing a small circuit board with those buttons on or it'll be the complete palmrest with the built in touchpad.
