    Hi
Not sure if this is the right place for this with me being a n00bie and all, but here goes...

I placed a tesco grocery order last week using the extra 1000 points if you spend over £50 code. I had placed an order for around £55 worth of food (not including delivery), but by the time the order arrived it can come down to the £51 mark once promotions had come off and some items were out of stock. Fine I thought, I'll still get my extra points. But when I put my shopping away I noticed that 3 loafs of bread that should have been there weren't. So I phoned the delivery people and they got the driver to have a look in his van to see if he had left them but there was no sign of it, so they just gave me a £3 refund for the bread, now taking my total order to below £50.

I basically want to know if this will affect my extra points? Looking at my bank account they've charged me the normal total, and then the £3 refund but I don't know if they would have taken the points off me as well? Looking at my clubcard points online it shows an extra 1000 there that should be added to my August statement, but I'm not sure if this is from this food order or the extra 1000 points code I used for tesco DVD trial. Just wondered if anyone had any similar experiences before I go phoning up the clubcard people, so I know where I stand. Cheers :)

If you have been awarded the points I doubt it very much they will take them back and after all it aint your fault either. My orders often go below the amount required for promotional points and I still get them ok.

    Hope that helps

Look on the receipt the delivery driver gives you - it tells you how many you earned on that shop.

Almond i am in the same situation as you are. I have five accounts and sucessfully ordered items on the first two using both the 500point Horwich code and the £5 off £10 code on both orders.

then on the third order I was told that one of the two items I asked for was out of stock and they would refund the amount paid for that item, but what theyve actually done is cancelled the whole order and only refunded me for one half of it! I'll have to phone them about that.

On orders four and five, I got the same email that you did saying that due to a problem at my bank the payment had been declined (which is nonsense). I tried repeating the order using a different bank card - same decline reason.
I tried a third time this time using Tesco visa card - still wouldnt accept it. Then a bloke from tesco dundee calls me to tell me that the order was cancelled and i gave him a whole load of grief about all this declining nonsense - poor chap!

I used to do mystery shopping at tesco which could involve several small transactions in different stores all on the same day. I remember that on one day my card was declined in the 4th (5th 6th and 7th) store that I went into and tesco blamed the bank in the same way. My bank told me that it was either Tesco or Visa that was refusing it and definitely nothing to do with the bank.

hi pudding here is the emails i have had from tesco still blaming my bank cards

You will have to read for bottom to top but see the way they blame OUR cards bit like whistle blower made the story up last night

    Thank you for your email.

I am very sorry for any upset caused by my reply.
Unfortunately, there is nothing more that I can say to provide you with an explanation for this as the matter is with the banking system and not ours.
Once again, please accept my apologies for any further upset caused.
    Thank you for your time.

    hi
I have spoke to john in customer services and they was no error with my
    payments I had funds
in the bank the error was with yourselves.
I am very disappointed in tesco using the excuse that it was my card and not
    your system that
has caused the problem. I expect this to be looked into again and an full
    explanation sent to me.
    yours

    I'm sure most of you have read this, but just in case;

On MSE there is info about getting 1000 points for opening up a tesco instant savings account if you deposit £1000.
Thanks to claiming my bank charges, and a bit of back pay at work I have just done that = £40 worth of deals!
