Hi i used to have a loan with cahoot but i didnt have any paper work so i rang them to see if i was entitled to claim for PPI but they said santander now deals with the loans so had had to write to them to get my details. do i just use the template letter from this site because i havent got my account number and i dont live at the same address?

Hi there

You could try checking banking statements from where you made the loan repayments from this business, the account number of the loan is normally shown next to the loan monthly repayment.

If your still with the same bank now, and have online banking, this may allow you to go back to about 2002, or otherwise ask directly in the branch who may try tracking these details down for you.

To make a reclaim, its a reclaim complaint questionnaire as on step 3 below, complete and send to Santander, and remember to keep copies for yourself as well.

Santander then would have taken over the liabilities going by what you have been told.
