Welcome finance

Hi my girlfriend had a hire purchase from welcome finance she handed the car back after making more then half the payments she was advised there was a lump sum of over £600 to be paid. She was unaware of what the payment was for and was told over the phone that it was an insurance that still had to be paid on that account. She though this was PPI but when she called welcome finance to lodge a claim she was told that she did not have PPI and that the insurance was for breakdown cover Gaurd X and a shortfall in case of loss of work which i thought was PPI.
If any one can offer any advice it would be great

Thanks

    Hi there

I am not sure of this and not heard of that protection, although I am wondering if its still reclaimable, such as if it was not wanted or required, I assume like any other insurance it should have been optional.

However, I am bumping this up for you, as others on here will have had dealings with this business and may share their experience of them with you, and what that cover entails.

Hopefully somoene will be along soon, good luck.

this post i have posted else where on here but i feel we may both have similar cases here.:mad::mad::money::money:

iam hoping that i will also be able to claim mis sold ppi from welcome finance from 2005, they tried telling me i had to take out payment protection, shortfall extra and another which i cant remember now.. anyway my partner at the time realised that on the same day i purchased it that i did not need this vehicle insuring with the above policys, i have all original ppwk as im a sad !!!!!! like that and keep everything, i cancelled it on the same day but over the phone... i believe you have a 30 day cooling off period, and they told me after my first payment had gone outb that i had not cancelled it,,, there was no trace of me cancelling, so i went to the branch direct and wrote a confirmation letter, only for it to take almost 2 years for them to cancel that policy. after which i asked them for that money back then and they said they will take it drom the price of the vehicle... they clearly did not... i still have no idea what happened with that account the policy or what!!! i was goimg to go to my local mp and even the newspapers about this company at one time i was so livid, im surprised i have any hair left... i M HOPING like i said that this may be a genuine case.. although i would not expect to get anything from this company without a fight...any advice further will be great
