  • I wash our lego once a month by steeping it in biological washing powder overnight.I too use a collander in the bath for rinsing because inevitably the little bits fall through, you can pick them out!
The children and their friends love the lego and I have a huge tub of it (several generations worth), it's just they inevitable have grubby fingers between snacks, grime and coughing.

I picked up some from car boot sale as wel - my two love it!

I throw it in the bath along with the kids.......

    Only joking

Hot soapy bath, the use the colander to drain it off.

    Hi Mum on a mission,

There's an earlier thread on cleaning lego that may have more ideas so I've added your thread to it to keep all the suggestions together.

  • On a similar note, I've acquired a huge bag of golf balls from a lovely free-cycler which is going to be my dad's birthday prezzy (seriously money-saving this year!).
They're grubby, so will need a clean and I was going to stick them in the bath and scrub each one, however looking at this thread I thought it might be a good idea to put them in the washing machine

BUT it suddenly occurred to me that it might do something to the balls... they're only old lake balls, so won't be in the best of condition anyway, but wasn't sure if WM water would cause it more problems??

If there are any golfers out there who know anything about it, any advice would be gratefully received!

Sorry this wasn't short, I can't use one word when 20 will do!

I clean my lego by putting it in a pillowcase and then clipping it shut with one of those kippet things then bung it in the washing machine. Sounds a bit noisy at times but it gets it clean.

Deep bin and a pressure washer/hose with a finger to create pressure, seems to work well.
One day I might be more organised...........
