Mamashaz, I washed DS3's Lego which had been in a shed for years to give to his son by putting some in a pillowcase and washing in WM, it turned out fine....I found that if you put a towel or too in WM as well it cut down on the noise!Weight 08 February 86kg0

Weird question I know - but we have acquired a bag of lego which is frankly very grubby. So quick easy ways to clean it - rather than by hand with a brush!
thanks

Try sticking it in a net bag or similar and putting in the DW if you have one - that's how we wash the school lego from time to time. Guess a WM wouild also work though it might sound a bit noisy!Resolution:

As lego has lots of nooks and crannies, I think I'd rather scrub it with a brush.
Try soaking it in a sink of hot soapy water before scrubbing.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no: 203.0 -
how about soaking it in a sink of hot soapy water then sticking in the bath and blasting with the shower to remove the dirt....might be easier than scrubbing with a brush- prior planning prevents poor performance!

Our mum used to dump in near boiling water in the sink with lots of fairy and stir it for a bit before leaving it to soak. We weren't of an age to eat the stuff though so she wasn't too fussed about it gleaming. I'd be careful with the washing machine since a small bit of lego once broke my mums (which meant weeks of lectures about pocket checking - I still reckon it was my brother)April Grocery Challenge: £250/£127.530

Funny I was thinking about this today. My son has just started to play with my husbands lego from when he was a kid but it smells a bit musty from being in the loft.
I like the colander in the DW idea. I'll have to do a few loads though as there is 3 biscuit tins full:eek:0 -
I'm glad you posted this as I bought this bag of Lego from the charity shop this week. The white bricks look quit grubby:
I don't have a dishwasher so I was wondering how I could clean it. It's currently still sat in the bag.
My kids have loads of Lego. They have the Lego that used to belong to me and my brother when we were children.:T*Thanks to all who posts comps * :j0 -
i bought a hugs bag of lego from a car boot last year and it was very grubby so i gave it a bath with fairy liquid and left it to soak for several hours. then i let the water our of the bath and put the power shower on it. finally, i wrapped batches of it in a towel to dry. it came up good as new. hope your children enjoy it xx0
