Need a Basic Credit Card for Internet Purchases

I'm looking to get a credit card, mainly as a more secure way to make purchases over the internet. I want to fill in a form to apply for the card, so I can have a photocopy of the form, rather than applying over the internet. I'm pretty organised financially, so I expect to pay my balance without fail at the end of each month. I have a fairly modest income (Incapacity Benefit, plus a wee bit of part-time work that the Job Centre allows me to do), so I'd be looking at a basic card. I want a card with no monthly fee.

What's the best choice out there, as I have no previous experience with credit cards?

A small income might cause a problem. Perhaps your own bank? They can see how you manage your money so will see how organised you are. You could pop into a branch and have a chat with them about it.

I seem to recall Aqua might be a card that's good for people with a low income.

Pay it off, though, the interest rate might be awful!
    My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j
  • If you pay it off without fail though that doesn't matter
