Just found out I have got PPI - what now?

I was watching one of those cheesy ads on daytime tv and went and got my loan form from about 3 years ago - I signed for PPI. I thought about it, I would NEVER have agreed to it as I am a teacher with a very secure job and I have insurance through my partners' work for unemployment.
Then I tried to remember what was said - i went into lloyds and spoke to someone face to face. I know I didnt tick those boxes as I tick left handed and all the ticks are handwritten and right handed. I never read stuff like this as I find it really hard. :(

What do I do now? I have tried reading the 'How to...' guide but I am at home with a flu/cold thing and I am dyslexic - so not the best at reading :(

Do I write to someone at lloyds and say pretty much what i have said above and ask for my money back? its quite a bit of money as the loan was 5K and the PPI is about 2 if I am reading this correctly (which is unlikely!)

    Hi and welcome

With your reasons, you can make a reclaim by completing a reclaim questionnaire, on the lloyds website there are details on how to complaint, the complaint form is the same one as on this site, complete to the best of your knowledge with your reasons as said above, give them as much info as possible.
Remember to keep copies for yourself as well, you need to mention about the dyslexia etc as well, good luck.

What I would say is well done for becoming a Teacher despite having Dyslexia. In my experience (as a pupil) most teachers haven't a clue what dyslexia actually is.

I think the small print is tricky for everyone though, not many people really understand what they're signing for (if indeed they do sign), and of-course this suits greedy sales people.
    :www: Progress Report :www:
    Offer accepted: £107'000
    Deposit: £23'000
    Mortgage approved for: £84'000
    Exchanged: 2/3/16
    :T ... complete on 9/3/16 ... :T

Thank you, I blushed when I read that :o

Thank you very much I downloaded the form and I have nearly filled it out with the help of my friend. It was easy to fill out as I think the PPI was slipped in without any conversation and I was told to sign 'here, here and here'.

I am not registered disabled with dylexia - its a spectrum disorder and I am just not great at reading (and writing :o ) and there isnt anywhere really on the form to mention the dyslexia. I will put it on the form somewhere!

  • I sent this form off ages ago, I have rung lloyds and they definitely have the form - they have said they have it - but I have never had anything in writing from them, no receipt of the form, no refusal to pay, no offer of payment.
What do I do now? I have posted off copies to the ombudsman address with a covering letter saying the above (in more formal language) and I have heard nothing from them either!!??

any pearls of wisdom from the MSE crew?
