Question regarding MOT.

Took my 206 to be MOT'd today & it failed on a couple things, one being the brake load sensor/relief valve.Anyway,my car is taxed & insured but my MOT runs out on 12th Oct.
Problem is I don't get paid until the 15th of the month & where I live is at the bottom of a cul-de sac with no off street parking.
Now I know you get your car clamped for no road tax,but can you get the car clamped if the MOT runs out?..Bearing in mind it's taxed & fully comp insured.
Thanks.

My gut instinct would be that it would be ok. The law permits you to drive a car to/from an MOT centre without a valid certificate on the basis that you are returning from a failed MOT/going to get retested.
Can the DVLNI be of any help?Regards, Robin.2011 MFW # 34

Found this off another website: http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1988/52/section/47?view=extent The 1st line, 47 (1) is the important one I think in this case.
It only appears to apply to Mainland though (hence why you put query here). Doesn't really help your question though for here!Regards, Robin.2011 MFW # 34

That's what I was thinking as well.
They say it should be ok but the girl I spoke to wasn't entirely sure...0 -
Assuming you have a credit card, why not get it fixed & retested before the 12th., and pay the garage & DVLNI by credit card? This is the 5th., so it won't come through on your statement until after you've been paid.0
