Childcare Question

Hi Guys
My son has just started school this year. If for some reason I wanted to start using the Breakfast/After school clubs, could I add this to my tax credits claim as childcare?
Is this the same as nursery where you work the average cost per week/month over the year and tell them with the ofstead number etc?
Also can I claim for this and also claim for another child in a private nursery at a different location? (There would be no free hours involved here).
Sorry, i'm a bit confused & don't wanna be on the phone to TC helpline forever costing loads of money

You should be able to if you are working 16+ hours per week. Shouldn't be a problem. The only way to find out for sure is to contact TC helpline.0

You can claim towards childcare in mulitple providers, I have 3 kids and used several different providers during the same tax year.
They do have a rule that unless your childcare costs have gone up by £10 a week (I think it's a week, and not a month) they are not interested. They will want to know average costs for that provider so you might need to consider how often you think you'll use it.
Be warned though, that they can check up on you, so it would be a good idea to keep a record of what you pay them and any rcpts you get - i'm currently having to contact all my childcare providers for the last tax year to get this information !!0
