ING Direct - don't cover flats for mortgages???

Hi, I went through the whole process online of applying for a mortgage - got accepted in principle and got to the stage of finalising the details.
I am moving into a new build, so when it came to the stage of filling in the address details I didn't know the street name or the flat number (as it is still being built). As a result of this I had to phone them up, but then they turned round and said that they don't cover flats in Scotland at all and basically my application is to be put in the bin.
Surely there is some mistake - it's a normal flat I am buying outright and I have absolutely no bad credit.

Did you read their lending criteria?
Some lenders will not lend on Flats or Houses in Scotland and Northern Ireland.
Some lenders will not lend on concrete properties, or ex-local autority flats, flats with a balcony access, ex-local maisonettes.
Some very bespoke lenders will only lend in a very limited area or certain job holders.
That is why if you do it yourself you need to read the terms of conditions and their lending criterias. Brokers know or will call up the lender to find out.
You now have a credit ecord check on your credit file. Make sure the next enquiry you do will be the right one, or speak to a broker.0
