combined Insurance company

My husband is a window cleaner and he was approached while working by an Insurance man from Combined about accident cover. In his job it is something he should have, but we havn't heard of this company before and are a bit wary because of the way the man approached him. I've looked on the companys website and they seem ok, but was wondering if anyone knew anything about them.

Dont use them. Their policies are not normally worth the paper they are written on. They are one of a few that still operate a salesforce and you never get good value from salesforces.

Thanks, I didn't like the way they approached him while he was working, it didn't seem right. Do these people just drive around all day looking for self employed tradesmen ? The only good thing they had going for them was they would insure him despite the ladder work, a lot of companys won't.

  • on what basis are they 'not worth the paper they are written on'?

in my experience the policies are excellent and they always pay out claims!

Do you work for them? Your post has that sort of wording.

I wouldnt go near them and I would make sure my clients didnt either. Never seen a policy worth paying for from them. As an IFA, I have the authority to comment on good and bad policies with knowledge of what is available. Unlike employees who are brainwashed into thinking what they offer is good.

I once worked for combined Insurance company. I say worked for as I only stayed 3 weeks, the 2 weeks "training" and then a week of knocking peoples doors. (says it all really). I personally would not recommend them. I wasnt happy with some of the techniques they used.
