MOT Fail-Brakes: Load sensing/regulating valve assembly - seized"
My 206 just failed on the "Brakes: Load sensing/regulating valve assembly - seized" ...I'm no car mechanic (I know more about Tornado GR4 jets than I do cars!) & have been looking for info on it.Bloke at the MOT center said he couldn't move it,so I'm going to remove the wheel & do the old WD40 ect,but what I'd like to know is..is this it?...

its the whole assembly you have pictured. i had one on my corsa that had seized , kept spraying it with wd and moving the piston in and out until it moved freely . took a good hour to get it completely free. its not a hard job.0

its probably easier to remove spare wheel and get to it from underneath. easier if you have some ramps.0

Also bear in mind the whole rear axle on a 206 is prone to fail (seizes up solid) so have a good look at the condition of it whilst your underneath.0

Best of luck freeing the valve off....have you priced a new one from a good factor if needed?...the job will not be nice if you need to fit a new one, if yours in anything like the one in the pic i imagine you'll end up replacing every single brake pipe between the master cylinder and the wheels before you find one that will undo without twisting off.
The pic you show is great, if ever something disproved the assertions by so many people that modern cars don't rust, this is it.
Wash down underneath after the winter salt and get busy with the Waxoyl chaps, these pics show what happens if you don't.0 -
Complete valve on ebay brand new from £45 to £69. Before you spend many hours trying to free it off.
BIL spent 2 days freeing off a brake adjuster and cable many moons ago and in the end gave up went to the
parts shop £9 for a new one.
He was kicking himself, Must have spent that much on WD40 never mind the time involved.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
They all seize eventually due to where they are and the muck they are exposed to. As said above, its just easier to replace. Even if you free it off now, it'll most likely need doing for every MOT from here on.0
