My son cant be bothered turning off lights so I have decided to add it on to his rent. Hopefully to teach him a lesson!
Soooo.....How much does a 60w bulb use per hour approx?

    1000 watts is the same as 1 unit, on your electricity meter.
    1 unit costs approx 9 to 17 pence (it varies by provider and tariff).


    1000 watts divided by 60 watts = 16.6 hours.

    This means you can run a 60 watt light bulb for 16 hours 36 minutes, using 1 unit of electricity.

    If you changed to energy saving light bulbs, a 15 watt bulb would run for 66 hours 24 minutes and give the same light output for 1 unit.
