1 unit costs approx 9 to 17 pence (it varies by provider and tariff).
1000 watts divided by 60 watts = 16.6 hours.
This means you can run a 60 watt light bulb for 16 hours 36 minutes, using 1 unit of electricity.
If you changed to energy saving light bulbs, a 15 watt bulb would run for 66 hours 24 minutes and give the same light output for 1 unit.0 -
