Tax credits problem!

Hi people
I have been on the phone for a friend twice in the last few weeks, awaiting an employee’s tax credit paperwork to be processed. Even though it is past the internal deadline for satisfactory processing time, we are being met with refusal upon request of when it will be processed. The phone says 3 weeks, she’s been waiting 7 (and counting), with no sign of a payment.
Any advice, as she’s pushing on hardship at this time!?!
