Lloyds TSB ID Aware

Hi Everyone,
Appologies if this has been posted elsewhere, I have had a look but not been able to find.
Last night I signed up for LLoyds TSB IDAware, mainly because I had been advised by Lloyds to check my credit report as an annamoly was showing. Which was discovered when I attempted to temporary increase my OD with them, a messgage asking me to contact them to confirm my address displayed.
After registring with IDaware, I attempted to look at my credit report on line, which it claims you can do, & a message asking me to supply an original utility bill, statement etc. linking me to my current address, in order to confirm my identity. Now this seems strange, as I have banked with LLoyds for years, receive all my statements from lloyds to the same address I provided & I am on the electrol registry at this address.
Has anyone experienced anything similar &/or does anyone else think this is strange?

I am registered with ID Aware and have never been asked for anything like this. Once registered it was easy to access my credit report.0

Thanks Johno43.
Have just spoken to the customer services & was informed it's a proceedual check, if there is something possibly slightly unusual with my report/profile, which i suppose is good that they want to check I'm who I say I am before releasing my details BUT it does make me even more suspious that there is something wrong on my report?!
Well hopefully I'll find out soon . . .Total Debt - Oct 11 (LBM): £26,415.24 / £21,686

You can get your credit report for £2 and within 10 minutes without sending any paper work off. Asking for utility bills and bank statements is the old fashioned way of doing things. Now they just pick some things up from the report and ask you for the answer. For example, it may notice you have a credit card and a mobile phone contract. Both of these will be on your credit report so it could ask who you hold these with.0

Although slightly off topic, ID Aware IMO is a waste of money.
You can obtain a copy of your credit report for free (via free trial*) from Call Credit, Equifax or Experian.
The benefit of on-going credit search monitoring can be easily matched by simply requesting a Statutory Credit Report for £2 every few months or so. Again, these are available from the main Credit Reference Agencies e.g. Equifax's Statutory Credit report is available online.
Fraud advice is easily obtained from a whole host of free sources, such as the government run, Action Fraud - you can also contact most CRA's if there is something amiss on your credit report.
You're paying £6.99 per month for a convenience service, but a little extra effort and you can source everything included in that product cheaper elsewhere.
*When you sign-up to a "free trial" be sure to cancel before the end of the trial period, otherwise you will end up paying a similar monthly subscription charge to that of ID Aware.Anything I post is my opinion, so from time to time I may be wrong. I try to provide answers based in fact, however I don't know everything, so (like all posters on MSE), take what I say with a pinch of salt.0 -
When selling 'ID Aware' I believe it is standard practice for staff to tell customes that there is 'something' on their credit report. What the 'something' is is never stated of course as they can't reveal this information.
As ID aware is provided by a third party and not Lloyds/TSB any requests for ID confirmation are not directly related to Lloyds/TSB.0 -
ID Aware in my experience was absolutely useless, no one ever has search my profile. I prefer Amex ID defence household policy for 8.99 you can see Experian reports for all your family.0
