Survey ,holiday won is it genuine or a scam to make money.

We have received telephone calls(from a geographical number, which does not answer when we ring back) on two consecutive nights advising my wife and I that we have been entered into a draw and a holiday has been won ,but to claim it we must ring an 0871 number and quote the ref number given, and state our address we will then be sent written confirmation .The draw apparently originates from a street survey under taken by my wife ,when she gave out our phone number.
Apparently 50 other people in our county have also won the holiday.

I know ,just curious to see if there is further information ,also they have answers to all your questions.if it is a money making ploy quite a few must be responding ,because a call centre is open until 2050 hrs to receive the winners calls, perhaps this needs investigating .blindman wrote:Do you really need to ask
I am obviously not making the phone call ,I am on her alerting othersTo be happy you need to make someone happy.0 -
I'd be interested in the outcome of this because a similar thing has happened to my mum, she apparently won a holiday to Tenerife after taking part in a street survey. She was told of her 'prize' a few months ago now.... I haven't heard any more!Sexkitten

I've received the same phonecall. It is a scam. If you have won a competition you will not be expected to pay a booking fee (this one asks for £199) and you will not have to ring an 0871 number to claim your prize.
Theres a couple of other similar posts on the comps board.2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040 -

I don't know what happened about it, I'll have to find out next time I speak to her.
But I thought it was a scam all along, seemed too good to be true!Sexkitten
