Negative feedback response

I have been left my first negative feedback in over 6000 transactions. Buyer didn't contact me prior to leaving, and says there is a problem with the item. I have contacted to apologise and given a full refund.
She says she feels guilty for leaving it, and has given me 5 stars across the board as everything else was fine.
I have submitted a feedback withdrawl request but want to respond to the negative in a positive way so potential buyers won't be put off.
If I do this, will she still be able to withdraw the negative ?

I'd hold off responding for a few days and give buyer a chance to withdraw the neg.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Funnily enough, have already sold three things today, so obviously not putting buyers offYou're only young once, but you can be immature forever0

1 negative out of 6000+ is very unlikely to put people off. I bet your percentage is still at 100%? I had my first negative a few months ago (4000+ positive feedback) and found it very hard to contact the buyer (they just wouldn't repsond). In the end I managed to get an answer and it turned out they hadn't received the item (RM's fault!) so I sent them a replacement. I did ask them about changing the feedback but as before no response. I decided to leave it with the thought that my percentage is still 100% and by having 1 neg on the account might put off any chancers who might try to blackmail me by threatening to leave me my 'first' neg! My sales certainly have not been affected and in fact have been growing steadily!0

This is on a new account I have set up, so it has dropped my percentage to 99.6. My other account has nearly 6000 feedback with no negs and 100% but one negative in 250 feedback in my new account sticks out like a sore thumb. You're only young once, but you can be immature forever0

Just noticed you said in post#1 she feels guilty etc.
Contact her to ask if she would very kindly like to revise the FB?
If she agrees, send her a feedback revision request.
Best Wishes
Sorry OP, you've already said you sent a request!0 -

I was going to say that, why even respond to it if she can remove it? What's stopping her removing it? :think:0 -

Ah right, have only sold a few things recently on eBay so did not know that. So did the OP say he has already sent one to customer?0 -

The OP was talking about leaving a 'reply to feedback', located at the bottom of feedback pages, to leave some kind of temporary explanation for buyers in the meantime while they wait or buyer to respond.0 -
