i'd invest some of that money into a club 18-30 holiday in ibiza.

Would rather just save it than have the hassle of running a club.
  • It's worth a try, my salary varies and I've figured out the minimum I get paid each month. I've only ever been paid this figure once but I'm now going to give a go of living off it like it's all I recieve. My only "bills" are rent and travel so it's more manageable for me than if my mum were to give it a go. I think while you are physically able to it's worth trying it.
    Thank you competition posters!

That also seems like a good plan. Only my wage unless I do overtime is pretty much always the same
  • I think it is a brilliant idea. It's a similar situation to the way I try and live. I bought my house on a salary of £25k on my own, I could afford all the bills and mortgage. So when I got promoted and earned more, and met my Husband who also contributes, I treat that money as "extra". I overpay my mortgage now with it. (As opposed to saving, been on all the calculators!)

I would have the odd holiday/treat though?

Im sure darkpool is saying, use some of the money to have a holiday to Ibiza....18-30 club implying enjoy yourself while you are young.

Oh right. Yeah I will definatly have a treat and put a bit of money aside for holidays (this will come out of my second job, which goes str8 into savings anyway)

I thought he meant invest it as in go into shares with a club in ibiza

First Great for you! Saving at such a young age.

Second, at your age, when working (even in summer when I was at UNI) I paid my parents something towards food/rent. Mainly beacuse they helped pay for UNi but also becasue Iwas earning. didn't do this when I was at school/a levels etc. So a treat for your Dad now and again is a must.

third, save up 6 months salary in cash in an ISA if you pay tax, and best savings acct otherwise.. After that you can branch out into equities, property (or deposit for) and pensions.
