connecting to wifi using ubuntu

ive installed ubuntu 11/04 pn the laptop as a dual boot system but it wont connect to my router to allow me to connect to the net using ubuntu ive used the right key but it takes a while then keeps asking ,me for the key anyone offer any help ive no problems connecting through windows but need to use ubuntu for some project in a course im doing
