Free solar panels.

So a company called Solsense rang tonight. They offered us free solar panels as part of a government initiative. Now I'm not naive enough to think anything comes for free, but has anyone had any similar offers. They say we have the panels free, maintained for 25 years and could save 50% off our electricity bills. It does sound like a golden opportunity and had an answer for every question we asked and potential "catch" Any thoughts???

Do some research. There is massive amounts of comments on here about these schemes.

Personally wouldn't touch them with a barge pole.

you`ll save , on average, £70 a year in a `normal` use 3 bedroom house , up to £120 for a larger house or one with a lot of day time electric useage ; those figures are taken from the energysaving trust , who has monitored schemes up and down the country for a few years - and will be monitoring the 1500 house scheme in eastbourne next year....

    sorry 50% is a lie.

the `government initiative` is the feed in tariff (or FiT) which solsence will earn around £1500 a year , every year for the next 25 years....
