Anyone know how to get the back off one when the slide mechanism is seemingly jammed?
I know how to normally do it but it won't budge, this being my 2nd time removing it, last time was a breeze.
The release button moves from left to right but not sure it's doing much?
Had the back off once before to upgrade memory and had no problem putting it back together. Or so I thought?
Help. It's all flush and everything and I didn't force it back on the last time in any way?

I just did a quick search on google and there are a mass of entries relating to that!
I just typed in "remove back off dell dimension 3000"0 -
you usually just lift the black L shaped lever on the back and slide the cover backwards and then it just comes away.

I agree that it's one of the most stupid designs that Dell ever used. (And, no, I can't get the case off the one we're just about to scrap, either!)
I think last time it was a matter of having someone hold the lever down and prising likely areas of the side case apart with a flat-bladed screwdriver.
PS I've just done it by holding the lever down and pushing in the side of the case with a backwards motion. Giving it a firm sideways slap, actually!0 -
Cheers John. I need to resort to similar tactics. !!0
