Which Dell desktop?

I've always used Dell desktop and never had any probs with them, therefore I am looking for a new one. I don't want to pay more than £500 total. I need it for daily use, letters, students homework, photo's, internet etc. Not for gaming. I don't want a monitor bigger than 20" due to space. I am also considering the all in one desktops but not sure about them.
Also always had Intel Pentium processor, but not sure if that's important.
Advice please.

A Dell that has either a Pentium or core i3 or core i5 will be plenty good enough for most users.... get a 2Gb ram or more and hard drive of whatever size you fancy.....
There's a very good deal on a Dell Vostro 260 with 23" monitor for around £450

although I realise you wanted a smaller screen ideally....just remember that new LCD's are widescreen so a 20" widescreen is not the same height or width compared to an older squarer 20"(4/3 ratio) monitor.

A 5 year old one should be fast for those uses, after a cleanup

or data backup followed by windows reinstall from factory restore partition
and if you need a new bigger hard disk (ccleaner and windirstat may help you to free up some space), they cost around £30-40 internal or usb
if you really want a new one, they are listed (with voucher codes to use at the dell checkout) here, you could also save money by using the existing monitor

you may also be able to get cashback on top http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/shopping/cashback-sites-comparison/Dell
all in ones are more problematic if something goes wrong, a laptop may be better.!!
