In order to help keep the Forum a useful, safe and friendly place for our users, discussions around non-MoneySaving matters are not permitted per the Forum rules. Are you sure that he still wants to move? Or perhaps he is ok with moving but not happy about renting?
I think you need to talk to him, not us.0 -

Your house is up for £120k? If i was interested in buying it, and EVEN if I thought it was worth that I would STILL offer lower. Purely based on the fact its been on the market so long. I could have the whole amount in cash and be happy to actually pay the asking price but I'd still chance my arm. Your fella in nuts if he cant see this. Houses prices aren't based on what the SELLER WANTS, they're based on what a BUYER thinks its worth, AND in the case of yours which has been on the market since God was a lad, thinks they can get away with offering. His refusal to even listen to £100k as a starting point for negotiating upwards is totally barmy. I'm not one to get involved with house priced debates but they aint going to rocket in the next year or so are they? If your husband doesn't open his eyes to bigger picture you'll still be there in your 80's. It would be nice if he could make a bigger profit, it might be fair that he got more money back but that just isn't going to happen. Life isn't fair. The longer you stay in that house the more money you're pouring down the drain in larger mortgage, bills, heating etc. Cant he even understand that bit? You are still losing money by not selling. Isn't that "giving it away"? He's cutting his nose off to spite his face. The man is a plank. And so are his parents.0

I am dying to find out what happened..Stop! Think. Read the small print. Trust nothing and assume that it is your responsibility. That way it rarely goes wrong.
