Hi there
I have an Acer travelmate laptop which won't switch on - I press the on button, the laptop will then start up, then switches itself off after a few seconds. This happens on both mains and battery power.
Does anyone have any ideas - it is out of warranty.
Thanks
Allie

Hiya
the battery light is not showing - I'm not sure if it usually does though. The battery was fully charged last time that I used it.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 027

You could try a bios reset.
1. Take all the power out (Battery and unplug)
2. Open cover where the Memory is (in the middle of the bottom)
3. You then have to connect the two points on a conection named "J1" for about a second with a flat screwdriver. This is quite a small 'jumper'. You might have to remove some or all of the memory to get to it.
4. Put your power back in and switch on.
Thats it. Hope it works for you.0
