EDF Prepayment Meter
I got into a mess with my electric bill due to redundancy and no work in the first 5 months of this year, so asked EDF to fit a prepayment meter, they couldnt at the time due to a bad batch of meters. Finally got them to come today to fit one they have arrived this morning and said that they cannot fit the meter because our current meter is over 6 feet from the floor and this is a violation of health and safety legislation (!!!) Anyone else come across this? They are now telling me that unless my landlord gives permission to move the fuse box and the meter to a more suitable position they will cut my supply off and I have no come back.
Anyone ever had this happen to them ?

No worries now .. apparently they will not move my meter as they cannot find anyone who will move it more than 6 inches, if they do it will cost over a £1000 and I am not prepared to pay that and nor are EDF (!!)
So the solution is now that they send me a card apparently and I pay the debt off weekly using a card0
