advice on no claims car insurance

hi my partner has a company van so we are thinking of selling our car as it dosent get used anymore, the only thing is my partner dosent want to lose his 3yrs no claims is there any way of saving this or do you lose it once insurance payments stop. :confused:

    Most insurers will honour it for up to 2 years after that it is "lost"

    At the same time most insurers will also give you "free" NCD to match the number years of being claims free on a company policy but often will take them all back should you have a claim in year 1
