I've got great sets of christmas cards in there before and books if you are quick you can get the best ones pounds cheaper! Great for pressies! Also great for partyware too like paper plates, napkins etc. Tealights too! They have a fantastic cake holder which is fantastic for large cakes! I usually get some beauty items too and Nair hair removal cream works fine. :D

I go to the 99p store chain now n again - Recent buys short coded cereals, shoe polish, straw hats, cup soup, garden ornaments, note books, pens, food bags.

A Poundland is opening near me soon so perhaps might be useful.

Which is better 99p Stores or Poundland, are they different in stock???

I don't have a 99p stores near me but I went in one once whilst travelling. I go in Poundland more often but nor regularly. I think they more or less have the same stuff but have different stock or different items that are simillar.. if that makes sense! Great buys though.

I went to a retail park today I hadnt been to before today and they had a poundworld! I was in my element! hehe.... they had garnier nutrisse root touch up hair dye in my mum's shade.. is normally about 5 quid each.. so phoned her and she said pick up 5! So more or less 5 for price of 1! lol! :) All of Garnier Nutrisse and Belle colour are just the same and mix to same shade.. says on their website. I also got a mini 3 drawer storage tower..nice to keep excess makeup in! Pop up laundry basket.. just what I needed! Toblerone.. 3 rimmel lipsticks.. lasting finish and moisture renew..current shades I think! Also Rimmel lycra pro nail polish in a pinky colour :)
  • Today was a medical top up.

Cold sore cream (its the same active ingredient and amount as many of the brands and a quarter on the price), Throat Lozenges (Halls only a few pence cheaper than in the shops but every little helps!) and some beechams cold medication. I usually the generic brands so get them cheaper than a £1 but was stuck in town with no meds and feeling rough!

The chocolate in bag was just to cheer me up as you can tell im not in great shape at the mo!

  • I'm always amazed at the great quality make up and toiletries that are available - over the last year I've bought Max Factor Masterpiece Mascara, Maybelline shadow stylist loose eyeshadow in several colours, Rimmel x'aggerate (sp?) eyeliner in Ocean Breeze (this week!), Rimmel liquid eyeliner, Wet'n'wild mineral foundation, Original Source shampoo and conditioner (I'm a massive fan and am stockpiling before they run out).

I know these are mainly discontinued products/old packaging so you could find them online for similar prices, but you'd have to either pay postage or buy a certian value of items - its nice to pick up little treats, and some of these things are now staples of my makeup bag (I would actually be willing to pay full price for the Rimmel eyeliner as its so good).
