    Afternoon all!
Sorry to hear about the playground shenanigans - some people simply have nothing better to do! I would say rise above it but know that's easier said than done:(

Another busy day at the chalkface...not much in the way of DFWing
    • Free card from FunkyPigeon arrived - very pleased with it
    • Took lunch to work
    • Walked dog locally in the park
    • Had a NSD
    • All food from stores
    • Checked bank - no surprises
    • Sorted out the recycling bins
    • Do a little bit of schoolwork tonight
    That's all for today....
  • Hi Ziggy,

Sorry to hear about the playground politics. I work in a school and we have a parent who sounds exactly like the one you describe. School staff despise people like this and if you feel that your child is suffering as a result of this silly behaviour then do have a quiet word with the teacher and support staff. they wont want to get involved between parents but they will make sure your child is OK. Do you have a spare half hour first thing in the school day? Could you volunteer to listen to children read? Not only would that be such a great advantage to the children, but also it would get right up that silly womans nose!!

Hope you have a better day tommorow. x

MY small DFW thing today? Got a part time eve job today!!!! Not dreading xmas so much now.

Thanks for starting the thread Tebheag (what does your username mean?)

Ziggy, sorry to hear about your school issues. I remember how important they seemed back then. Trying to ignore it is probably all you can do (easier said than done I know), but the suggestions about having a word with the staff if you think your LO is being picked on, and offering to help out in the school if you have time are good ones. ((Hugs)) If it is any compensation, once you get to my advanced age, you will honestly wonder what on earth you were worrying about though :)

Congrats on the new job to the other poster (sorry, I have lost my bearings and forgotten your username :o)

    Today:

Got up early and made marmalade before work this morning :T Well, the final bit, cutting up the citrus fruit (with the Magimix I hasten to add) and boiling to set with the sugar, potting it up etc. I cooked the fruit last night. I now have 6 jars of tangerine and lemon marmalade, with a softish set and a lovely flavour, made from old fruit (the ones left in the fruit bowl that nobody wants to eat) that had been hanging around, or had previously been shoved in the freezer, manky half lemons from the firdge etc :D

Amazing what you can do when you don't have to iron something to wear to work, like I did yesterday

    Breakfast at home

    Packed lunch for work

    Free paper on train

Worked out that it will be cheaper to buy weekly season tickets for the next couple of weeks rather than renew my monthly one tomorrow when due, as I have 7 days leave coming up at the end of October :j. Feat of mathematics working that out was :rotfl:

HM supper- stuffed jacket spuds and baked beans

Cooked down another batch of tomatoes from mountain (now sadly coming to an end) for tomato sauce. I will sieve them and cook with the other ingredients tomorrow - possibly even in the morning before work :D

Loads done for me today (in the context of advancing years and a hectic full time job that is) as I was in the office all day and had no travel to external meetings :T

I expect I would get bored if I were there all the time though :rotfl:

Also, OH fixed the window that wouldn't shut (between the dining room and the small conservatory, a small internal one) by taking it off and planing it and putting on new catches, in time for when it gets colder :T

Has anybody heard how DNMS got on with her house move?
  • aw hi Dawn  I've been reading but evertime I go to post I loose connection  (although am piggy backing on on of the neighbours internet :p so probably fair enough!)

Been keeping up with the DFW stuff although it is intertwined with the expense of needing to buy stuff

    small things today:
    paid in cheques
changed address at bank & CC1
sent off log book to change address
    took stuff to the tip
    all meals from stores

lots of cleanining, calling & organising!

ziggy yep good advice tell her to blow you! Really clearly she has no class & is very insignificant. She really has done you a favour better off without people like that. Puyt her completely out of ur mind best thing with ppl u are better off without

Yargo nuff respect for the use of the "C" word :rotfl:

perni nice saving on the car part! :T
