Redundancy/Pension/P60

Hi,

Hoping to get some advice. My husband is just about to get made redundant. We are fortunate in that he is getting a deent package over £30K. We are thinking about putting the excess over the £30K into his existing company pension. my husband is under 55. My question is would the excess amount show on his P60 and will we have to declare this to tax credits as income. I believe that tax credits will allow for the first £30K and this does not need to be declared.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
