Work programme query...

Hi, ive recently been placed on the Work Programme, have had 4 or 5 appointments up until now, the problem i'm having is my advisor. He comes across quite rude, and any challenge i make he just disagrees with and almost dictates what i must do, rather than discussing it.
I was just wondering if it was possible to talk to the jobcentre about this and ask to be assigned somewhere else, i have no problem staying on the work programme, there have been certain features which i have interesting, but i just cant stand my advisor. The problem is, i dont think the jobcentre will assign me to a different branch (or preferably company) on the basis of my advisor being rude. It's come to the point i'm almost stressed out to make the appointment. Will the jobcentre grant me my wish? it's not as if im asking to stop the attending the programme.
all advice much appreciated.
Thanks.

Expected reply from the JC :-
1. is rude - "well we can't all get along but it's only for a few weeks, sometimes in life we get personality clashes and you have to learn to work with it"
2. tells me what to do - "well, you haven't had much luck finding a job on your own, she's pretty much there to do exactly what you are describing, I would knuckle down and get on with it."
How much longer is it for?
Do you have specific examples of "being rude" to feedback e.g.
"she told me I was too (fat/old/cockney) to find a job"
"she accused me of lying about how many applications I had put in."
That, someone can work with and coach the advisor.Debt free 4th April 2007.
New house. Bigger mortgage. MFWB after I have my buffer cash in place.0 -
Which provider are you with, there is always at least 2 in each area. Also, roughly where are you, I'll let you know who the other one is.0

That's the thing though, it's not for a few weeks, well not that i'm aware of anyway, isn't the work programme a permanent arrangement until i find a job? which of course i hope is in a few weeks but if not, well i'm stuck with this advisor.
As for examples of being rude, i don't want to be too specific, so ill say just a couple that really bother me: He dismisses pretty much everything i say and almost dictates what he believes is right and he makes sarcastic replies on occasions to things i say with a bit of an attitude.
I don't want to make a formal complaint and then just end up being with this advisor again, as it will only be worse, i just want to know if there is anyway out of this and be assisgned to a different provider. I don't mind the travel and being located to a different area, as long as there is a change as this provider is doing me no good.0 -

Thanks for the reply, i'm aware that there could be other providers in the area, but as i said in the post above i would not mind moving to a different provider in a different area if it would mean i could change. The problem is convincing the Job centre to allow me to change, which i just dont see happening and i dont want to bring attention to the problem if i know right now that i wont be allowed to change to a different provider.0 -
so basically they haven't been rude, you're just being very standoffish. Perhaps spend your time with your adviser proactively, and learn that you will always have people you do not get on with, so deal with it. It seem syou have no grounds for any form of complaint, and any request to be moved to another advisor is strictly on a case by case basis. It seems to me you seem to be the one with the attitude problem, if you wanted to get back into work at the earliest opportunity, you would happily endure people like that.
And its his job to get you back to work, regardless of what you see as sarcasm or personal attacks. The advisor is specifically trained to get you back to work, it just seems you're being a tad childish.0 -

Yes, yes you're right, personal attacks are perfectly acceptable, what a way to build somebodies confidence up. Bore off.0 -

You cant move to a different area unless you live in a different area and so sign on at a different JCP, the contracts are awareded by area.0 -

Oh right, wasn't aware of that, don't have a problem with moving to a different provider in the same area, it's just convincing JCP to assign me somewhere else that is the problem.0 -
Why does it stress you out ?, never had an advisor be rude to me but you might be able to request a change.0

If you speak to Management with the Training Provider, can you not request an alternative Advisor??? there are usually several of these working within the same offices.I'm not a "SINGLE" mum, I'm a "DOUBLE" mum!:D0
