Sounds lovely. Think the mini cheesecakes are a good touch.

:) Can I make a photo request please? Can you please share with us photos of your individual cheesecakes? Cause this is exactly what I'm doing :) First time I've seen anyone else on here doing the same :). I'm making my buffet and cheesecakes, am going to do 5cm cubed ones, and am currently thinking about trying to make an eaton mess one :) I cannot wait to start practising them!!

Thanks for the responses all, feel a lot better now!

MrsDrink I will definitely post a photo up of the cheesecakes. Ours will be in round cupcake cases. I am SO looking forward to them. I'm going to have one of each... well I am the bride after all :p

Reading the other thread, I'm a bit worried about our buffet. The venue is fantastic on everything bar the buffet options. The wedding is in 6 weeks so can't really change things now lol. We have chosen the hot buffet which consists of: A hot selection of homemade sausage rolls, Cajun potato wedges, roasted bbq chicken drumsticks and breaded mozzarella sticks.

Could you put out some pots of coleslaw, potato salad, and some bowls of mixed salad as well, just to lighten it up a bit, and provide some colour? All are available pre-made from the cash-n-carry so shouldn't cause the venue any work.

We have 110 guests and have 55 individual toffee cheesecakes and 55 individual mixed berry cheesecakes and a small sponge cake. These will be the sweet part of the buffet. Does that sound ok?

The cakes sound lovely, a fruit basket would be nice for anyone who can't eat sugary desserts.

I wish there was more variety. We are also serving up tea and coffee with the buffet. Reception starts at 7pm, first dance at 7.30pm and serving buffet around 9.45pm when the band stop for a break.

If there is dancing you will probably need water / cordials available from the start as people can get thirsty.

Will the guests know the buffet is at almost 10pm i.e. will they have eaten beforehand - it's very late if people expect a 'main meal' but fine as a late supper.

Fruit being almost entirely........................ sugar. :p

I agree. Way too late for the buffet. Can't you have it at 8/8:30pm?

Thanks for your input. As far as I know, we aren't allowed to bring our own food. Plus things like coleslaw would make it a fork buffet which in turn would need cutlery and I'm unsure if we could be charged for that. What we have just now is finger food. Again, with the fruit I don't think we can do that as can't bring own food.

There will be a bar so folk can get their drinks there.

Reception doesn't start til around 7pm, when day guests have just finished dinner so 8.30pm seems a bit early to serve the buffet. We are serving when the band take a break, seemed like the most logical point to do it.
