I've never heard of this before. I don't think I would do it to be honest, afterall there must be something in it for them other than profit.
I have had many Light Bulb Moments. The trouble is someone keeps turning the bulb off :o

Don't forget quidco you can earn 4-5p on these buys :O they quite often get rejected though lol. A few have slipped through so you are paid to take them away!.

How about, they believe ebay's hype about starting auctions low and people will bid it up.
    It doesn't always work.

My wife often gets costume jewellery on Ebay from China or Korea for 1p plus free postage, never had a problem with it going missing and she's always delighted at the quality. They start their auctions at 1p or sometimes even 1 US Cent and occasionally some don't get any bids.
Someone once told me the sellers get some form of government grant to sell overseas.

A lot of the larger overseas sellers do it because it ups their transactions so they can qualify for the higher Powerseller ratings and receive up to 30% off their final value fees. You will probably find that they are also selling higher value items too. A few transactions where they are making a small loss on each is soon made up for when they receive 30% off a few thousand pounds worth of fees.

You'd be suprised - one DealExtreme's most popular products is a small LED Pig Torch thing.

They offer free worldwide delivery with *any* order... and loads of people just buy that on their own.

Somehow, they can afford to buy the goods from the supplier (who buys from the manufacturer), host a website, have a goods handling department and then pay to send that thing half way round the world on a plane, all for 65p.

When you consider to post that WITHIN the UK alone would cost that, it's mighty impressive.
