New Mortgage..What insurance to get??

Hi...Me & my wife have just taken out a new mortgage of £230k & figure being a huge amount we better get some kind of cover. We are planning to leave the country in a couple of years for Australia so wandering what would be the best kind of poilcy to get for a couple of years?

I don't personally take out anything other than "essential" insurances... by these I mean Building and contents cover and car insurance (Oh and Pet insurance as its cheap and vets are expensive!).

My view is we still have the house to sell if anything goes wrong. I may consider some sort of protection if house prices crashed (unlikely in my view) but thats the only time.

Neither of us would want to stay in the same house if the other wasn't there so its not an issue and we both have life insurance (via pension scheme) and a form of illness cover through work.
