I get a similar screen too.
I suppose you could argue that "contract rate" ought to be the deal you got when you signed up - ie the intro offer. Afterall, that is what you have contracted into... And it doesn't show the rate that will apply in the case of the "contract" rate.
If the OP wishes to argue it, that is the way I would go.
I appreciate that to those (inc me) that are MBNA regulars, it is all very obvious. But it isn't as clear as it could be, IMHO.0 -
To be fair to the OP why do MBNA put up a screen with the option "Do you want to pay interest or not?" Although not a scam, it seems an unnecessary thing to do.
My advice when the Manager phones you is to be polite and apologetic for the simple mistake you have made. Appeal to his/her better nature to get the balance transfer switched to the 0% rate.0
