Comet really bad service.....

I'll try and keep this short, On 10th December last year I purchased a Goodmans TV from Comet, Everything has been working fine until I noticed that the surround around the screen has started to come away, I popped into Comet and they arranged for an engineer to ring me, The engineer called and I told him the problem he said it was a cosmetic damage fault and if it gets any worse to take it back to the store because the tv worked fine there was nothing they could do. Yesterday I found that more of the surround is coming away and the screen has become very loose so today I took the tv to the store, They are still saying it's cosmetic damage and they are refusing to even look at it, So it's ok for a screen to come loose........ They are telling me it will cost me £69 for an engineer to look at it but it's under guarantee... I need to know where I stand.

The SOGA doesn't offer any protections for goods which have been damaged. Its also likely the warranty does not cover damage.
If you can prove (independent report?) that the item is faulty; in that it hasn't withstood normal wear and tear; then you could lodge a claim under the Sale of Goods Act.0 -
double post...sorry
It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.0 -
Comet needs it's own sub-forum. They're awful. There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0
