  • The free ones are not as good
    Never had a virus using a free one

    I did however install Kaspersky as it was 'free' from Barclays - didn't like it all and it slowed my computer down

    using Microsoft Security Essentials quite happily now

    Can u use Microsoft Security essentials if my Windows is NOT genuine?
  • Either open an account with them and accept the credit search, and get the use of Kasperksy or ... buy it if it's what you really want.

    I assume not as it uses windows update sometimes (but also has it's own updater built-in) and that will want to download genuine verification stuff

    no credit search for basic cash card account iirc
